The arrest of Ashley Tellis for allegedly passing secrets to the Chinese has been met with glee by some in India. On LinkedIn one Indian academic was petty enough to describe Tellis as a windbag who got his just rewards. The anger against Tellis stems from a recent article in Foreign Affairs where he is critical of Indian foreign policy. While I have often disagreed with his writings, I have respected his scholarship and opinions. So what should Indians understand about this case?
