Dibrugarh: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Wednesday convened a crucial meeting at Dibrugarh University to review and accelerate implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 across universities and colleges in upper Assam.Addressing the gathering, which included vice-chancellors and principals from various educational institutions, Acharya highlighted the transformative potential of NEP 2020. “The success of NEP 2020 depends entirely on our collective commitment and collaborative efforts. We must work together to achieve educational excellence and ensure that our institutions become centres of innovation and holistic learning,” the governor said.Acharya said the NEP framework offered unprecedented opportunities for educational reforms, its effective implementation requiring sustained dialogue, adequate resources and institutional readiness. “Our educators are the backbone of this transformational journey. Their dedication and innovative spirit will determine how successfully we can integrate the new academic structures, multidisciplinary approaches and skill-based learning that NEP envisions,” he added.The meeting, also, focused on several key areas, including curriculum restructuring, faculty development, infrastructure enhancement, and the introduction of flexible credit systems, which allow students greater academic mobility.The consultation also addressed the importance of maintaining quality standards, while expanding access to higher education in the region.
