Many people felt the question crossed a line, especially during a formal team event. Soon after, former tennis player and coach Rennae Stubbs reacted strongly when she saw the clip. She did not hold back, calling the question inappropriate and unnecessary in a public comment.

Rennae Stubbs made her feelings clear in a short but strong reaction. She wrote, “OMG that is so inappropriate to ASK! Stubbs pointed out that if Gauff wants to match that kind of legacy, she would need to win multiple titles every year over a long period.She said, “That’s her words, not mine.
