Swarupnagar is a Scheduled Caste-reserved constituency in North 24 Parganas district, located close to the Bangladesh border. It is largely rural with a strong SC voter base. In 2026, sitting TMC MLA Bina Mondal seeks re-election against BJP’s Tarak Saha.In 2021, TMC’s Bina Mondal won comfortably with 99,784 votes, defeating BJP’s Brindaban Sarkar by a wide margin of 34,800 votes, bucking the BJP wave seen in adjacent constituencies. In 2016, Mondal had also won for TMC with 93,807 votes, beating CPI(M)’s Dhiman Sarkar by 11,941 votes. In 2011, Mondal won her first term by 7,414 votes. Her three consecutive victories make her a formidable incumbent, and TMC will look to this seat as a reliable hold in 2026.
