BHOPAL: Both the accused and the complainant’s family have moved separate applications before a Bhopal court in connection with the alleged dowry death of Twisha, seeking preservation and scrutiny of electronic evidence.Retired district judge Giribala Singh and her advocate son Samarth Singh, the accused in the case, filed an application before JMFC Anudita Gupta alleging procedural lapses in the seizure of CCTV DVRs from their Katara Hills residence. Their counsel said police seized DVRs linked to eight CCTV cameras without preparing a mandatory panchnama or taking witness signatures. They also claimed occupants were not asked to identify persons seen in the footage and pointed to alleged timestamp discrepancies, saying the footage was misrepresented. Defence further sought forensic examination of mobile phones, alleging edited WhatsApp chats and calls were being circulated. In a separate plea, Twisha’s family sought preservation of call detail records, tower location data and CCTV footage from AIIMS Bhopal between May 12 and May 20, 2026, alleging possible attempts to influence the investigation after her death on May 12. Both applications are under consideration.
