After promising an experiment nearly two decades ago, India’s central bank may finally be set to bring out currency notes made of plastic as the demand for cash in the economy continues to rise as does the number of fake Rs 500 notes.
A Business Standard report said the Reserve Bank of India could have a pilot project for the new notes soon to test them, but the government is still to announce the plan.
