The repercussions of the Delhi protest are still visible across various media platforms. The people supporting the protesting crowd are staunch opponents of the Modi government and the Bharatiya Janata Party. They never miss a chance to infiltrate any protest against the Modi government in such a way that they get into the limelight because of it.
They were aggressively supporting the protest on social media during the protest. The mob of protesters was trying to enter the Parliament by breaking the security cordon while pelting stones at the police.
First of all, the protesters organized the march to the Parliament despite having no permission. There are strict rules for the security of the Parliament. The mob was trying to enter the Parliament premises by violating these rules.
While the police and security forces were trying to control the crowd through lawful means, the protesters launched a massive stone-pelting attack against them. The police were left with no choice but to carry out a lathi-charge to control this mob. However, these people, by publishing photographs of the lathi charge, created a fuss that the Modi government was crushing the students’ protest through the use of violence.
While doing that, fake videos and photographs were openly used. A common man, unaware of such deceptive tactics, started feeling that the Modi government was not doing justice to the students.
Another equally grave matter was that the security personnel deployed for the security of the Parliament premises were verbally abused.
This made one thing clear that the aim of the forces behind the protesters was to undermine the respect for constitutionally established institutions such as the government, the armed forces, the police and the Parliament.
This is nothing but treason. It seems that the violent gangs among the protesters were given clear instructions that they should attempt to breach the security of the Parliament premises.
Otherwise, the mob would not have turned so violent. Going forward, it has become necessary to counter such protests by these gangs by awakening the nationalists.
Not only during the students’ protest in Delhi but even after it ended, fake news was being spread continuously with the intention of creating confusion among the youngsters and students, as well as creating unrest against the government.
The supporters of the Left parties who backed the Delhi protest had literally turned social media into a factory of fake news. The intention of the forces behind the protesters was to trigger a massive wave of violence through such fake news.
A news was spread that a female student died in the police lathi-charge during the protest. However, an investigation proved that the photograph used in the news as a female student was actually that of a South Indian actress. The real intention behind spreading this news was to make the protesters angrier and provoke them to attack the police force by making them believe that one of the protesters had died during the protest.
As this fake news got exposed immediately, the supporters of the protesters stopped talking about it. Selected photographs of the police carrying out a lathi-charge on 20th July were morphed and released.
The police used a lathi charge only against those protesters who had launched organized attacks on the police and aggressively tried to cross the barricades at the Parliament premises. According to the Delhi Police, around 200 police personnel were injured in the attacks. Some people expected the police to remain mere spectators to this attack.
It could have led to a major disaster had the Central Security Forces deployed in the Parliament premises and the Delhi Police not stopped the large mob of rioters. The false news stating that few protesters had entered the Parliament premises was also spread systematically.
The only intention behind this planted news was to encourage the mob of rioters and provoke them to break the barriers at the Parliament premises. Not just that, one news channel went ahead and aired this news without even verifying it. A petition challenging the police action against the protesters had been filed in the Supreme Court.
The news that the Chief Justice had said he did not have time to urgently hear the petition or watch the videos of the alleged police lathi charge was also spread quickly.
The sole purpose behind spreading this news was to create anger among the protesters towards the constitutionally established judicial system. The Chief Justice himself had to clarify that this was false news.
He had to clarify that there was no such petition before him for hearing at that time and therefore there was no question of making such a statement. Several newspapers and news channels carried this false news against the Chief Justice without even verifying it. Such incidents are bound to increase in the coming days.
Therefore, the awakening of nationalist forces across the nation is necessary to teach such forces a lesson. One such march was organized in Ratnagiri. Similar marches need to be organized at several places. This is the need of the hour.
