In the context of the recent trade agreement with the United States, the clash with the Chinese army in the Galwan Valley, and Operation Sindoor, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been consistently criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party in abusive language. Rahul Gandhi is the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Therefore, he has the right to object to and criticize the policies of the central government. However, while exercising this right, Rahul Gandhi deliberately makes false statements.

This false narrative seems to be aimed at defaming India internationally rather than criticizing the Modi government. Considering the scope of Rahul Gandhi’s intelligence, one does not expect any scholarly criticism from him.

Before Rahul Gandhi criticizes the Modi government and the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he should learn the history of how many times his father Rajiv Gandhi, grandmother Indira Gandhi and great-grandfather Pandit Nehru bowed down to America, China and Pakistan during their prime ministerial tenures and how much it affected the citizens of India.

In 1954, while serving as Prime Minister, Pandit Nehru relinquished India’s claim over Tibet and permitted China to occupy it. While giving up the claim over Tibet, Pandit Nehru did not consider what impact China’s aggressive attitude would have on India. Even after China swallowed a large portion of Aksai Chin, Pandit Nehru did not obstruct it. By signing the Panchsheel Agreement with China, Pandit Nehru effectively gave official recognition to China’s act of swallowing Aksai Chin. The same China suddenly attacked India in 1962. The Nehru government did not have sufficient defense preparedness to repel this attack. While resisting China’s aggression, thousands of soldiers lost their lives. Pandit Nehru had even advocated for China to be granted membership in the United Nations Security Council.

From the time India gained independence, China had begun efforts to occupy Indian territory along the border. In the 1950s, China systematically occupied Aksai Chin, which is part of Jammu and Kashmir. At that time, Pandit Nehru was busy giving naïve slogans like “Hindi-Chini Bhai-Bhai.” Even before the 1962 war, China had seized this region. After China occupied this territory, the issue was raised in Parliament on December 5, 1961.

When questioned in Parliament as to why the Nehru government remained silent while such a large and strategically important part of India was being seized, Pandit Nehru said, “There is no point in claiming land where not even a blade of grass grows, it is wrong to wage war for this region, and discussing it in Parliament would be a waste of time.” Before criticizing the Modi government, Rahul Gandhi should study how his great-grandfather allowed thousands of square meters of land to be swallowed by China. In 1948, Pakistan infiltrated soldiers into Kashmir in the guise of tribesmen and occupied a large part of it. This area is currently known as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

At that time, instead of ordering the army to drive Pakistan out of this region, Pandit Nehru prioritized approaching the United Nations against Pakistan. The United Nations ordered that the “status quo” be maintained in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. After that, Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi made no efforts to reclaim this region under Pakistan’s control. In the 1971 war, Pakistan faced a humiliating defeat. At that time, the United States was trying to stop the war between India and Pakistan. During that war, 93,000 Pakistani soldiers were in Indian custody. Pakistan’s military and its ruler Zulfikar Ali Bhutto were pleading before the Indian Army to stop the war.

At that time, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi missed the golden opportunity to take control of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir by taking advantage of Pakistan’s helpless condition. Pakistan’s then Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto came to Shimla for negotiations with India. Even with 93,000 Pakistani soldiers in custody, Indira Gandhi did not demand the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. In that war, hundreds of Indian soldiers were in Pakistan’s custody. The Indira Gandhi government did not even demand their return. Despite the Indian Army winning the 1971 war with immense valor, Indira Gandhi signed an agreement to stop the war with Pakistan. This agreement is known as the Shimla Agreement. Rahul Gandhi should actually write a thesis to find out why his grandmother accepted such surrender before Pakistan.

During the purchase of Bofors guns from Sweden, large sums were received by middlemen in the deal. The main intermediary in this was Quattrocchi, an Italian national. Rahul Gandhi may well ask his mother, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, under whose pressure the opportunity to capture Quattrocchi was lost during the Manmohan Singh government. In 1984, thousands of people lost their lives in the Bhopal gas tragedy. Yuvraj Rahul Gandhi should also understand the history of why the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi bowed down to America while safely sending Warren Anderson, the director of the company from which the gas leak occurred, to America.

The history of Congress and the Gandhi-Nehru family is one of bowing down to America, China and Pakistan. India has paid a heavy price for this surrender by Congress. In 2020 and 2018, the Modi government acted in time to stop Chinese incursions. For Pakistan’s acts of supporting terrorists, the Modi government gave a strong befitting reply through surgical strikes and air strikes. The young prince does not understand this history of self-respect. Instead of proudly narrating this history on international platforms, Rahul Gandhi appears to be making efforts to defame his own country.
