Director R.S. Prasanna reveals extensive casting effortAhead of the June 20 theatrical release, director R.S. Prasanna shared insight into the casting journey of Sitaare Zameen Par. In an interview with IANS, the filmmaker revealed that the team auditioned more than 2,500 individuals over nearly 10 months to find the right fit for the film.

“We didn’t want professional actors; we were looking for raw, real talent. That made the process more challenging,” Prasanna explained. He added that many of the auditions were held online and the team had to conduct a series of preparatory workshops to help first-timers get comfortable in front of the camera.Sitaare Zameen Par marks Aamir Khan’s return to acting after a brief hiatus following Laal Singh Chaddha.
