Aamir Khan wasn't approached for R Madhavan's role in Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar 2'

The ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise has emerged as a box office juggernaut, with both the first part of the film and its sequel receiving widespread acclaim across the globe. Headlined by Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, the Aditya Dhar directorial is the talk of the town. Amid its soaring popularity, speculation began circulating that Aamir Khan was being considered for a pivotal role in ‘Dhurandhar 2’. Some reports even suggested he was asked to play the role inspired by Ajit Doval which was eventually played by R Madhavan. There were also claims that Aamir had shown interest in the role of Rehman Dakait but wanted the character to be less politically charged, and had instead pitched the idea of a biopic on Ajit Doval.

However, these rumours have now been firmly dismissed. A source close to the actor clarified that such claims are “absolutely untrue and baseless.” Speaking to Instant Bollywood, the source confirmed that no conversations ever took place between Aamir, director Aditya Dhar, or casting director Mukesh Chhabra regarding the film.Aamir recently spoke about the success of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and said that he has not seen the film but is only hearing praises. Addressing the buzz and the trolling for not watching the film, Aamir said in an interview with Variety India, Aamir said, “The strange thing about me is that I don’t watch films. I’m a reader. I read. So a lot of people, when they have free time, watch content, which is either a show or a film. I like to read it.” He also reiterated that the only films he has consistently watched are black-and-white classics, highlighting his personal inclination toward reading over screen content.
