Filmmaker Atlee’s collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan in 2023 resulted in ‘Jawan’, a blockbuster that shattered records at the box office. Ever since the release, the audience has been eagerly waiting for the duo’s reunion. Even as Atlee announced his next with Allu Arjun, the anticipation for ‘Jawan 2’ is at its peak. Several reports claim that the director will be reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan for ‘Jawan 2’ and ‘Don 3’, and now the filmmaker has finally broke silence.

Is Atlee reuniting with SRK for ‘Jawan 2’ and ‘Don 3’

In an interview with India Today, Atlee said that the sequel of ‘Jawan’ is not on the cards anytime soon. Speaking about his rapport with SRK, the director said, “I think all my heroes are great players. But Shah Rukh sir, he’s also into sports—KKR. He’s an inspiration for me, basically. He’s into cinema, he plans for a film, he’s in a shooting schedule, and parallelly he has some time for his coach, his team, and his planning. So I got inspired by him. That’s why I called him my partner.”

When the director was asked whether he would be collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan again, he said, “I think Shah Rukh sir and I will definitely work on something. But ‘Jawan 2’, I personally feel, maybe some years later—not the immediate next. But definitely Shah Rukh sir, and I will look into something when it comes in its flow.” But what about the rumours doing the rounds on ‘Don 3’? “Oh, oh! That’s a rumour. I also read it. No, no, nothing like that.”

What’s next for Atlee?

Atlee is directing Allu Arjun next for the film AA22xA6. Multiple reports suggest that the film is made on a massive budget with a whopping Rs 350–400 crore set aside for the visual effects. Deepika is the leading lady. On the personal front, Atlee and his wife Priya are set to welcome their second child. While announcing the pregnancy earlier, the couple said, “Our home is about to get even cozier with the addition of our newest member! Yes! We are pregnant again.
