This Diwali, there might be two kinds of people at the party — those who still love food, and those who suddenly don’t!
Forget fancy clothes and spa gifts — the most talked-about thing this year is a special injection that some people are taking to lose weight. It costs a lot, and it makes you feel full faster, so you don’t want to eat much. Some say it’s amazing; others say it’s just a trick by medicine companies.
Last year, Elon Musk even joked about it by calling himself “Ozempic Santa.” In India, some celebrities may be using it too — but they pretend it’s all because of their “new diet” or “super gym routine.” Meanwhile, the Diwali table full of laddoos, samosas, and chivda might be ignored by guests who are watching their plates instead of enjoying the feast.
But what happens to our culture if everyone stops eating festive food? Diwali without barfi, gujiya, halwa, or even aloo tikki would feel strange. Food is how we celebrate — we cook it, share it, talk about it, and remember it.
So this Diwali, eat your favorite sweets, enjoy the snacks, and celebrate like it’s one of a kind — because it really is!
