U-KISS member Lee Jun Young addresses why he called a fan ugly
Recently, during a digital fan meeting, the idol was talking to a fan who danced in front of him to cheer him up. She even had a placard built with her that had the phrase “Are you okay? You puke when you see ugly things, so look at me.” Since there were a few spacing issues with the hangul (Korean script) that she had written, the actor ended up calling the fan ugly by saying, “Are you okay? Being ugly?” which had then gone viral online after the video was extensively shared by the fan. At the time of writing, the video of the idol hilariously calling his fan ugly has gathered around 2 million views.

Now, during a physical fan meeting which was held with the idol, he quickly provided clarification over the clip and even apologized, although he also mentioned that he knew everyone found this hilarious. He added in his speech, saying that, “I felt so sorry that my expression was like that. What happened was that they were holding up a paper that said, ‘Are you okay? You puke when you see ugly things, so look at me,’ but split into two lines. All I did was work hard to read the paper. To be honest, I still don’t get [the meme.] ‘Are you okay? You puke when you see ugly things, so look at me.’ It’s pretty hard. Anyway, my friends keep sending it to me too, asking if they’re okay.”The actor had to provide a detailed explanation of the situation himself in order to rectify his error.
