Mizoram CM meets representatives of IPE Global to develop first planned city in state

Aizawl: Mizoram chief minister Lalduhoma recently held a meeting at his office with representatives from IPE Global, the consultancy firm engaged to prepare the master plan for the proposed Thenzawl Peace City in Serchhip district.The meeting was also attended by K Sapdanga, minister for urban development & poverty alleviation (UD&PA).During the meeting, the chief minister said Thenzawl Peace City would be Mizoram’s first planned city, envisioned as a clean, well-organised, and beautiful township aimed at promoting tourism and balanced urban growth.He emphasised the importance of meticulous, high-quality planning and urged the consultancy team to work with dedication and excellence. Lalduhoma also suggested that the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee (MSPMC) be involved in reviewing and monitoring the project’s progress.The visiting IPE Global team shared their extensive experience in preparing city master plans across India and abroad, and presented their strategic approach for developing the Peace City. The firm was selected as the consultant, following a tender process that drew 18 reputed firms, underscoring the scale and significance of the initiative.IPE Global, which operates in over 100 countries and maintains 20 offices across India, announced that it will open its Mizoram office within three weeks and begin work immediately.The delegation was led by Anil Bansal, senior development expert, accompanied by other technical specialists. Senior govt officials, including Sudir Kumar, principal secretary (GAD), and Lalmalsawma Pachuau, secretary (UD&PA), were also present at the meeting.
