TARN TARAN: In a horrifying incident inside a Tarn Taran law college, a first-year student shot dead his classmate before turning the weapon on himself. The shocking crime took place on Monday at the Usma Law College, sending panic across the campus.
According to senior superintendent of police (SSP) Surendra Lamba, the deceased female student has been identified as Sandeep Kaur. The accused is identified as Prince Raj Singh who allegedly opened fire on Sandeep inside college campus. He then shot himself in the head.Both students were in their first semester at the college.Students and faculty were stunned by the sudden gunshots, after which police teams rushed to the campus.Sandeep Kaur died on the spot while Prince Raj was found critically injured and was rushed to the hospital, where his condition remained extremely serious at the time of filing this report.SSP Lamba said police have begun a detailed investigation into the motive behind the murder-suicide attempt. “CCTV footage from the college is being obtained, statements of students and staff are being recorded, and all angles are being examined,” he added.There are conflicting reports about the boy’s condition. Nachhattar Singh, the sarpanch of Mallian village where the boy lived, claimed that the youth has died, while police maintain that he is still in critical condition.He added that the boy’s father, who serves in the Army, had left for duty 15–20 days ago after spending his holidays at home, leaving only the mother and son in the house.
