The Israel-US joint attack at Iran on 28th February, 2026 has jolted not only Teheran including the Middle East region but, in fact, the entire world. Although this possiblity was circulating in the air for almost past two months with the rapid military preparations by both Washington and Jerusalem, but attack will realize suddenly in this way as being witnessed, might had not been forecast in the holy month of the Ramadan. Unfortunately the joint precision attack killed the Supreme Iranian Leader Ali Khamanei including his family memebers and several prominent leaders including top military commanders. 

And that has turned Iran desperate to seek ever-maximum retaliation from its two opponents in union as visible in Teheran’s relentless strikes on Israel and almost all American military bases established in most of the Arab states viz. Qatar, Baharin, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran and more others apart form civilian localities situated therein. Evidently the Iranian despertation is aggressively rising to engulf not only the entire region including fifteen nations but also the adjoining areas including Europe and surrounding oceans and seas. While President Trump’s highhandedness to murder the Supreme Leader of Iran and ensure a regime change in Teheran can’t be justified in any way howsoever threatening that might have been to Jerusalem or Washington, the mounting directionless fierce retaliation by Late Khamenie’s army joined by terror outfits like Hezbollah, Houti and Hamas is gradually inching towards a likely global disaster probably in terms of the World War-3. But what makes this possible if it materializes anyhow? 

Few reasons may be assigned to substantiate the argument. First, the US wishes to restablish its unrivalled and unchallenged global supremacy and hegemeony vis-a-vis the continuing distractions before Russia – the successor of the erstwhile Soviet Union –  engaged in almost unending war with Ukraine and the ascending China facing multiple challenges from its neighbours and the surrounding enemies viz. Taiwan, India and almost all states in Southeast Asia and Indo-Pacific besides persisting internal disturbances therein. With this end, the US successfully displayed its waywardness by kidnapping Venezuela’s president Maduro and his wife like ordinary criminals to be tried by the American court. The near global silence of the international community over this bulyism has indeed boosted the morale of President Trump followed by his threats to Greenland and Canada leading to mounting differences amaong NATO partners altogether appears to have convinced him to go ahead unhindered even in Iran, ensuring smooth regime-change in Teheran. 

This is why President Trump invested sufficient time in tightening his belt and braces to encircle Iran in all corners by exercising all options to pressurize Teheran to dance aligning with the US’ tunes. But no one has expected the brutal murder of Iran’s Supreme leader Ali Khemeni. Perhaps the global society had expected the same treatment for Ali Khemeni as that meted out President Maduro or earlier in Iraqi President Saddam Huessien. Indeed, President Trump had overstepped here and Iran’s desperate and obdurate reactions are apparently legitimized by the Arab World though many regional states are the designated US’ military bases having huge American investments therein, thus deriving enough socio-economic comforts and stability and security in their favour. Obviously these states may find themselves on a crossroad as to which side to go with consistent deterioration in the battle-field. Despite all material benefits being enjoyed by them, they may return to their religious identity overshadowing all mutual bickerings divinding their regional unity while confronting with Israel and America.  

While this conflict is consistently taking an ugly turn with the passage of each moment in the form of ever-increaing massive attacks by both the opponents on civilian locations, American embassies in Riyadh, military establishments, nuclear sites viz. Nataanz, Fordo etc. to engender the possibility of even radition leak in the region, the entire scenario has become more and more volatile to result possibly into an unimaginable global and human crisis. 

Further with the so-declared stand of the UK and France including Germany to take part in the ongoing war as both London – as Britain’s naval base in Cyprus was attacked by Iran – and Paris have suffered losses from persisting Iranian attacks, Washington has also declared the possibility to land its military force in Iran to fight the ground battle with the enemy obviously to accomplish decisive American victory therein so as to instal its pro-American democratic government in Teheran for achieving and sustaining its lasting control over rich natural resources for own energy security.    

Against this backdrop, while the mounting Iranian attacks on Israel and all American military bases and embassies in the region as above-mentioned have badly shattered the so-proclaimed military superiority of Israel-US duo on the one hand, the newly designated trustworthy Supreme Leader Ayotollah Allireza Aarafi has almost defeated the very purpose of the Israel-US joint attack to ensure the regime change in Iran, on the other. Further, Iran has also decalred to take full revenge by killing the Israeli’s Prime Minister Netenyahu just as Ali Khamneni was killed. Also the ever-rising attacks and counterattacks by the both belligerents appear to have closed the chances of diplomacy, though President Trump had cited Iran’s efforts for initating peace-talks. Notwithstanding all these events, the continuing fierce war scenario speaks otherwise, particularly the US’ pluging down into this new quagmire with returning body bags of the American soliders – as that had been in Afghnistan in the past – for Iran in the interest of Israel. The ever-mounting instinct of Iran to carryon this war to perhaps the doomsday as they have nothing to loose now with the latest threat to close the strait of Hormuz and thus restraining the free movements of the commercial cargoes across continents, with continuing attacks on American embassies and military bases gradually unnerving the US’ leadership reacting with unimaginable retaliation against Iran, reminds us about the Pearl Harbour attack by Japan episode and the US dropping first ever Atom bombs over Tokyo. Evidently, the world in inching towards World War-III with possible option of nuclear weapons. May the Almighty Grace the humanity with a chance to survive by motivating the saner voices and peace movements in the world including the Non-Aligned Movement – founded and led by India, Yugoslavia, Indonesia, Egypt and few more. This is possible as nothing is beyond human endeavour.
