‘Bhooth Bangla’ day 8 collections
Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, has entered its second weekend on a solid note, crossing the Rs 90 crore mark at the domestic box office. However, its previously uninterrupted run is now facing competition from the Hollywood biopic ‘Michael’.On Day 8 (second Friday), ‘Bhooth Bangla’ collected a net of Rs 5.75 crore across 8,573 shows. While this marks a noticeable increase from Thursday’s collections, the film’s India net collection has reached Rs 90.15 crore, after closing its first week at a strong Rs 84.40 crore, as per a sacnilk report.
‘Bhooth Bangla’ overseas total
In gross terms, the film’s India collections stand at Rs 107.20 crore. Overseas, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ added Rs 2.50 crore on Day 8, taking its total international gross to Rs 37.50 crore. This pushes its worldwide gross collection to Rs 144.70 crore so far.
‘Bhooth Bangla’ vs ‘Michael’
The film was enjoying an undisputed run at the box office, however, it faced an unlikely competitor with the release of the Hollywood biopic ‘Michael’, on the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The film starring Jaafar Jackson in the lead, surpised all with its impressive Rs 3.80 crore haul on Friday. With the adition of of Rs 1.70 crore from its preview shows, the film has scores an estiamted debut of Rs 5.50 crore according to early estimates.This places the film just Rs 25 lakh behind the collections of ‘Bhooth Bangla’.
‘Bhooth Bangla’ vs ‘Dhurandhar 2 ‘
Prior to the relase of ‘Michael’, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ only faced competition from the Bollywood spy thriller, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. The film reportedly delayed its release at the box office, on the request of distributors to allow the film an undisputed run at the box office. As per the latest reports, the movie earned an estimated Rs 1.60 crore on Friday, thus taking its total collection to an estimated Rs 1,124 crore net collection.
