After Uefa proffered a boycott of all upcoming Fifa tournaments, the outcome is simple: the sport’s overlord, a football Jesus in white sneakers, who considered himself a head of state, is facing the beginning of the end. Infantino’s downfall might be steep. On Friday, Carlos Cordeiro, one of his senior advisers and a former banker at Goldman Sachs, resigned. Cordeiro said he had been left in the dark about the plans.
