Times News NetworkPrayagraj: In a tragic incident, a man and his son were electrocuted to death on Sunday morning after coming into contact with live electric wire while irrigating fields in Hardi village under the limits of Bara police station in trans-Yamuna pocket of the district.The deceased were identified as Vinod Kumar, 60, and his son Dhanu Kumar, 95, residents of Hardi village.Police said Vinod was irrigating his field using a tubewell on Sunday when he came into contact with a severed power line. His eldest son, Dhanu Kumar, rushed to save him but also suffered an electric shock. Both father-son fell unconscious due to shock.

Their family members, present in a nearby field, rushed to the spot upon hearing their screams. Using a bamboo pole, they managed to separate both the victims from the source of the electric current and took them to a private hospital in Jasra. Doctors declared them dead after examination.Upon being alerted, a team of Bara police arrived at the spot and sent the bodies for post mortem.
