In the last 3 parts, we argued that when the basis of consideration is matter or material, Time is definitely a traitor. Scientifically, we saw that time is not considered when we are dealing with unified fields or a whole system (the Universe). This is the case when the subject matter is Matter or Material. We also argued that time may cancel out in scientific analysis, but Indian Seers say time doesn’t cancel out and instead extends beyond life and death across many lives.

We asked a question: if mind or feelings travel faster than light, then beyond the basic elements, does time exist? Because this falls beyond the scope of science, parascience has to be considered. It is the limitation of science at the current level that forbids us from understanding Time entirely from a scientific perspective. However, it gives us some insights as to what Time can be and how it is related to parascience.

Let’s consider three aspects:

  • Quantum entanglement
  • Double slit experiment
  • Karma theory of Indian scriptures

Karma theory says every action (thoughts and feelings included) has a consequence, and the consequences don’t cancel out. Many cultures don’t accept this theory because they don’t believe in rebirth. This non-acceptance is logical. They question: if one action has a consequence and a person faces that consequence after 10 subsequent births, how is this theory useful? The person doesn’t even know that this consequence is for some particular action in past lives. So what is the use or validity of such consequence? This question is valid, and the Karma theory seems irrational.

Quantum entanglement suggests that if two particles are a few galaxies apart, a change in one particle in our world induces an instantaneous change in the other particle. Everyone is baffled as to how that happens. The answer lies in the parascience of Time.

In Part 3, we discussed that our one year is one day of the Devas, and that one day of Bramha is a few thousand years of the Devas. This simply means that Time is being unzipped or stretched into a bigger sequence. One day of the Devas is stretched to one year in our world. I call this Staggered Time. Similarly, one day in Brahma Loka, the abode where Brahma stays, is stretched to a few million years in our world. So, we have three types of worlds: our world (W1), the Devas’ world (D1), and Brahma’s world (B1).

The smallest unit of time in our world is Planck Time (5.39 × 10⁻⁴⁴). Say, Quanta. Beyond this value, time may lose physical meaning. Similarly, D1 and B1 also have their smallest units of time. Let’s call these WQ of W1, DQ of D1, and BQ of B1.

What happens in a non-dual world, or in the state of Adwaita? This state is beyond Brahma Loka (B1). Time seems non-existent here. Many advanced meditators have expressed that in the state of deep Samadhi, time doesn’t exist. Most of them refer to this. Meaning, time exists here in the smallest unit (let’s call it AQ) always. There is no staggered time (or stretched time) in this state.

The most important aspect to note is that in the Adwaita state, a person is always experiencing AQ. This AQ is so infinitely small that not only Matter but also Mind and Feelings lose physical meaning. This the seers call “living in the present”—living in that minuscule unit of time where body, mind, and feelings have no physical entity.

Another very important thing to remember is that a person in the state of Adwaita is always experiencing time at AQ. For her, it doesn’t matter if she is in W1 or D1 or B1 or A1. She is always living in the present, and the time experienced is the minimum unit of time in the Adwaita world.

Remember, in Part one I said no matter how much I tried to live in the present, time had always passed, because I was not in the state of Adwaita.

It is essential to understand what is matter or material. In science, we see the smallest particle possible as Quantum Particle. While solving the grandfather paradox, we used Tatwas (basic elements) as material. Here, we add MAAN (mind), BUDDHI (intellect), CHITTA (wisdom), and AHANKARA (ego) as Tatwas, or utterly physical. Unless one transcends these Tatwas (Ether, Air, Fire, Water, Earth, Mind, Intellect, Wisdom, and Ego), one can’t experience AQ (the smallest unit of time of the Adwaita state). So, all Indian scriptures say “drop the ego.” Transcending the ego means all these other Tatwas have also been overcome.

Bhagavad Gita 18.53
अहंकारं बलं दर्पं कामं क्रोधं परिग्रहम् ।
विमुच्य निर्ममः शान्तो ब्रह्मभूयाय कल्पते ॥

Transliteration:
ahaṅkāraṁ balaṁ darpaṁ kāmaṁ krodhaṁ parigraham
vimucya nirmamaḥ śānto brahma-bhūyāya kalpate

Meaning:
“Having completely abandoned ego (ahaṅkāra), power, pride, desire, anger, and possessiveness, becoming free from ‘mine-ness’ and peaceful, one becomes fit for realization of Brahman.”

Ashtavakra Gita 1.8
अहं कर्तेति अहंमानमहाकृष्णाहिदंशितः ।
नाहं कर्तेति विश्वासामृतं पीत्वा सुखी भव ॥

Transliteration:
ahaṁ karteti ahaṁ-māna-mahā-kṛṣṇāhi-daṁśitaḥ
nāhaṁ karteti viśvāsāmṛtaṁ pītvā sukhī bhava

Meaning:
“You are bitten by the great black serpent of ego, thinking ‘I am the doer.’
Drink the nectar of the conviction ‘I am not the doer’ and be happy.”

Buddhism says:
Dhammapada 279
“Sabbe dhammā anattā” ti,
yadā paññāya passati;
atha nibbindati dukkhe,
esa maggo visuddhiyā.

Meaning:
“When one sees with wisdom that all phenomena are not-self (anattā),
one becomes disenchanted with suffering—
this is the path to purification.”

Buddha says:
“Etaṁ mama, eso’ham asmi, eso me attā” (this is mine, this I am, this is my self)—
is to be seen as it really is with wisdom and abandoned.

Once ego or material has been dropped, the mirror image of Time (quantifiable stretched time) vanishes. The real TIME still remains. It is only here that the SOUL gains meaning, or the SOUL is experienced—not before that. The soul still recognizes TIME.

Advanced modern scientific researchers opine that TIME, most probably, is in the mind. They are entirely wrong. If the basis of analysis is changed from material/mind, TIME in the human body is in the root of the procreation channel. From there, it spreads to different (what we call) power centres in different layers of the body and further to other parts of the body. Each and every minute part of the body registers and realizes TIME.

In quantum entanglement, there are two possibilities:

  • A particle or system decays into two particles. A spin-0 particle decays into two spin-½ particles → their spins are entangled (in opposite directions).
  • Two photons created in separate processes can be entangled via interaction or measurement. In labs, techniques like quantum gates (in ions, atoms, superconducting qubits) and entanglement swapping create entanglement between previously unrelated particles.

Meaning, common origin is one way to get entanglement (very common in nature). However, common origin is not required; entanglement is about correlations, not genealogy.

Let’s relate this to humans. The soul is in A1 (Adwaita state 1), but the body is in W1 (World 1). They are completely entangled. Any action, thought, or feeling by the soul gets manifested in worlds like W1, W2, etc. But in A1, time is not staggered; in W1, time is staggered. In A1, cause and consequence are instantaneously correlated. A cause immediately produces a consequence. But this consequence, when it gets manifested in W1, is staggered in W1. Because of this spread-out nature of TIME, there seems to be a gap between cause and consequence (action leading to reward and action leading to punishment).

According to Karma theory, they don’t cancel out. They can’t in principle.

We will continue subsequently.
