Palantir CEO Alex Karp is no fan of Democrats. Little doubt then that he does not share a high opinion about New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Just days after Amazon founder Jeff Bezos almost had a public fight with Zohran Mamadani over taxes, an old post of Palantir CEO where he has slammed New York Mayor as well as his followers is going viral. In an interview clip of Palantir CEO shared on X, formerly Twitter, Karp is seen as discussing NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani.Palantir CEO Alex Karp says on Zohran Mandani, “I think the average Ivy League grad voting for this mayor is highly annoyed that their education is not that valuable, and the person down the street who knows how to drill for oil and gas, who’s moved to Texas, has a more valuable profession. And I think that annoys the f–k out of these people.”

‘I want my Democrat friends to grow a spine’

Appearing on “The Axios Show” in November 2025, Karp claimed that Democrats privately tell him they doubt New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani can accomplish his ambitious agenda. The percentage of Democrats who know that nothing Mamdani is saying can ever work is very high,” Karp told Axios’ Mike Allen. “If you talk to them in private, they’ll be like: ‘Yeah, that can never work.’ “We’re in a world where you have to start speaking up if someone is saying something you know can never work,” he said. Karp added that he still has “I hope, many” Democratic friends, and urged them to “grow a spine because a lot of these people actually agree with me in private.”In the wide-ranging interview, Karp spoke about a number of things including the stakes in the AI race. He said, “We are going to be the dominant player, or China’s gonna be the dominant player. And there will just be very different rules depending on who wins.” He said he’s “concerned that we fail in America and that we don’t dominate,” because of too much emphasis on “discussion about human rights that obviously only serves people who, like, somehow wanna live in a world that doesn’t work.“ON the topic of getting enough sleep, Karp said, “”I’m primarily a creative human. … My best work is done if I get eight hours’ sleep. I can’t always do that ’cause I’m traveling. … But I really strive for eight hours’ quality sleep because what I notice is I just feel better, my brain works better.”
